i think everyone with anxiety has some sort of palpatations or chest problems! i daren`t exercise incase my heart packs up and i have a heart attack - i have chest pains everyday and all my tests have been negative, i`m having CBT at the moment and have been advised to start exercising little by little i.e having a ten minute walk then building it up, easier said than done (i haven tried it yet!) but maybe that would help you starting small, as for the alcohol i find that in the morning if i have to much my heart races so it`s just a case of finding your limit and sticking to it.

Please try and get the heart thing out of your head easier said than done i know the fact is its a vicious circle the more you think of it and more worried you get the faster your heart will feel then the panic will set in all you can tell yourself is your tests were normal so everything must be ok

I have a lot of the same heart issues.  In fact, I put on a good (bad) 40-50 lbs after my panic attacks started because I was afraid the exercise would put my heart over its limit and cause a heart attack.

I also have the heightened sensitivity of my heart, where I notice any skipped or irregular rhythms, which can be enough to put me into a panic attack...though I am getting better about it lately.  And I have had several ECGs, including 2 of the 24-hour Holter monitors, which have all come back normal.

The fact is, no matter who you are you will have some sort of irregularity in your heart beats at some point throughout the day.  We are "blessed" with this hyper sensitivity now which detects that one irregularity and runs with it, like we are dying.  This isn't a heart attack, it isn't even dangerous, but our minds just won't accept that.

So what do we do about this?  Short of drilling it into our minds that it's nothing serious, I don't know what else to do.

Just know that you aren't alone in this, in fact I think a good 90% (or more) of panic sufferers feel the same way you and I do.

P.S.  Alcohol does the same thing to me.  Actually it's kind of a blessing.  I was probably drinking way too much at the time, and it has forced me to mellow out.  I get away with maybe 2-3 glasses of wine a week now.  You might have to do the same.  It saves lots of $$!
