Correct dosage of Zoloft

I recently started taking zoloft for panic and anxiety . I also was bacoming depressed. I've had some very stressful events happen and I was really off. I was resistant to start the zoloft as I had taken it about 5 years ago for about a year, and I remembered the horrible side effects when starting it. Anyway my question is this. I am currently taking 25 mg of zoloft. I've been on it for 3 weeks. I was supposed to up it to 50 mg in after a week. I could almost not tolerate the side effects at 25mg but I stuck with it and one day I just felt better. If i am feeling okay is 25mg enough or should I try to increase it. I was on 50 mg before. I'm afraid if I increase it I will start feeling the side effects again. on the other hand I want to take the most beneficial dose. Can anyone help me. Is 25 mg. enough. Thank you

You need to speak to your doctor about it.  If you are feeling better on the 25mg dosage the doctor will probably tell you then that is what you should stay on.  However, only your doctor can tell you what you should do.  Best to you.

Wow, I had no problems on Zoloft.  My husband took 100mg and it did wonders for him.  I started on 50mg, then tapered to 25mg if I remember correctly.  Agree with suzi-q though, if you are feeling better, just let your doc know and the two of you can make that decision.
