Loose30cannon is right, the holidays can ramp up anxiety with all our "must do's" or other issues.
I have found that, when I struggle with anxiety, my witching hours are first thing in the morning, and at 3-4pm on the dot. Are you taking the ativan? If you're not, I would do so as the dr. prescribed. It's good that you're eating and drinking - good nutrition and plenty of fluids help a lot. Are you exercising? Exercise gets good endorphins in our system, and can help burn off excess nervous energy. Even just a good stretching routine for 10-15 min. a day can help. Try some yoga - that has been a good managing technique for me.
When the anxiety is really gnawing at you, focus on your breathing. Slow, deep, into-your-belly breaths, slow, deep exhale. Keep telling yourself, "it
s just anxiety. It's no fun, but it's just anxiety". Distract yourself - put on some music and dance, do jumping jacks, call a friend, get up and go to the store, turn on a fave tv show or movie. Distraction helps us interrupt the anxiety-focus vortex.
Hang in there!
