It sounds like the primary symptom is the detachment from reality which causes the secondary symptom of anxiety. When this happened to me for the first time I felt that scary impending doom feeling after I felt detached, but each time it happened after the first time I was no longer scared, just confused as to what is causing it.
I have a neurologist, but he has been unable to figure out what is causing my symptoms. Back in 2011 I had an MRI of my brain, but it didn't show any lesions. For a while my symptoms went dormant, but just recently I've been experiencing them again. One day my symptoms were so bad I went to Urgent Care, and the doctor suggested I get another MRI to re-test for MS. I still haven't done that yet, but I will soon.
Please see a doctor, and keep me updated. Also, try not to get too anxious about it as it could very well be something simple. My thoughts are with you! --Colleen
Yep, it is very similar to that. My Head and body feel just so weird, and I do get a floaty almost like my body is going to detach feeling.... It just feels like my whole body is gonna go paralyzed. It does cause Anxiety, cuz I hate the sensation, due to my fears, but it's that feeling of impending doom, where u are certain death is imminent, that is so darn scary. It comes in waves, so I'm now convinced that its not Anxiety and somethin like a seizure, impending stroke, or MS..... I'm just so frustrated. I'am 39 weeks pregnant, and these spells have been pretty frequent since April, after I had my frequent bouts with Migraines, which produced an Aura which everything from my sight to feeling was affected. I had no head pain, after the Aura. Before I got Pregnant, I would have one, once a year, and since ive been pregnant, I've had at least 6. They're different from the ones i had before, and by that i mean i just have no pain after the Aura. I've had a CAT Scan which came back normal, but I was still
convinced I was havin TIA's. So, as a result, I've been feelin like this for 2 months. Constant Lightheadedness as well, and feeling unbalanced when I walk. I'm so scared and sick of it.
This sounds like it could be a couple things. I think I know what you're talking about as I have experienced this sensation myself except it happens with my hands, feet, and head. I can look at my hands, and they feel like they're someone else's hands, and I can't feel my feet or head; then I get dizzy. This sensation causes me to panic sometimes which in turn makes the sensation worse.
I don't know if what you are experiencing is the same thing or not, but it could be anxiety related, or the sensation could bring on the anxiety because of your fear of having a stroke. But since I'm not a doctor I would recommend you see one as soon as possible to err on the side of caution to rule out anything serious.
