DREAD

Whenever I go to my hometown I get this dreadful feeling.  I don't like the environment or the people, I don't like the things they talk about, I get really stressed and fatigued when I go there,  I really don't like talking to most people, I avoid the phone, emails are ok.  I feel guilty for feeling this way. How do I stop feeling this way?

I think i know why I feel this way. Its because I find most conversation very boring and fatiguing, the only person I like talking to is my boyfriend and best friend.  I like to create things and I have many hobbies, I would rather do that than talk to most people.  I don't have the best social skills and its hard to fake it.  Its just exhausting.

Some theraphy might help you here. Help you to understand why you feel like this. Get to the root of the problem and teach you some new coping skills. That would mean going out and even talking to people. Nothing saying this has to be quickly. it would be done over a period of time. Like goal setting. Small goals to begin with. Until you feel relaxed and your body adapts to the new feelings it will go through. Whole idea will be to not run away if the dread kicks in. Let it hit you. Just to see that it does it pass just as it came on. A therapist would teach you loads. Plus have you talk about why you have this dread. There is a reason for everything.
