Depression or Not

I am a 45yr white male. I am having lots of Anxiety and no sleep becasue of the anxiety. My dr. put me on Remeron 30mg. Then I was sleeping great. But the anxiety during the day was the same. So he added Abilify. With one dose of 2mg I felt increased anxiety and irrablity.
Is it possible that I do not have depression and because I'm my healthy, how would the Abilify effect me?

Sounds like GAD or general anxiety disorder.  You don't mention being depressed.   Perhaps a regimen for anxiety would better suit you.  I would talk with the doctor again.

Most people who suffer with anxiety take an antidepressant as well as an anxiety medication. There is an adjustment period up to a week or so when starting any antidepressant, and I'm sure this is what you experienced.  It takes 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefit of Abilify, so be patient. Your doctor knows what he's doing and if you ever have anything that concerns you about the medication, he is your best resource and wants to know how you're doing on it.  So, never hesitate to call him if you have a concern.  He should have explained all of this to you, but sometimes they don't.  Stay the course, you will feel better and start sleeping again.  Best wishes and take care!
