Dry Heaving

I'm sixteen and I take Effexor to treat depression and anxiety. Nausea is in fact listen as a symptom but I've been taking it for years and just recently I've had very frequent dry heaving. Usually it occurs when I haven't eaten recently and the usual nausea from that occurs, but sometimes it happens when I'm not hungry (after I have eaten). I've thrown up about three times due to this nausea, which was a surprise because it hadn't gone that far before. As you can imagine the dry heaving is painful and I was wondering why this is happening to me. Thank you!

Is it possible that you are pregnant?

If it did not cause nausea before, I doubt that it's the Effexor.  You need to see your doctor.  It could be caused by a lot of different things.  It could even be caused by some breakthrough anxiety.  Only a doctor can find out for sure what is going on.  Make an appointment and let us know how you make out.

I didn't think it was either, but I know a lot of tests would need to be run which means a lot of money so I figured I would ask. But if we are in fact able to make an appointment I'll leave an update! Thank you so much!
