Hi! I was hoping that a doctor could respond to my question. My husband has just recently switched to EffexorEffexor Effexor xr 150mg/day for his anxiety. However, since he's been taking this medication, he hasn't been able to sleep. His mind just doesn't switch off. All night he tosses and turns and around the time he should be getting up (6:00 a.m.) would be able to sleep for hours! Is there something that can help him? Even if he has to take something for the time being but that he wouldn't become dependant on? We need help! Thanks! Krys.
Sleep difficulties is a side effect of EffexorEffexor Effexor xr.
You need to talk with his doctor to see if a dosage adjustmentAdjustment disorder is necessary or a change in medication.
I wouldn't recommend a sleeping medication, even an over the counter one, although that's only my opinion.
If you want additional information about EffexorEffexor Effexor xr you might want to go to this website:

Hope this helps.
