Anxiety doing weird things to body!

I have recently been suffering from anxiety and stress. I see a therapist about this. However, I am wondering if stress and anxiety can make strange things occur to your body. I have headaches, joint pain at time, night sweats if constantly worrying, itchy skin and recently i have had white spots on my tonsils...and I have never had tonsil problems ever in my life. I am worrying if this is cause for something serious because I have been to my doctors and have been tested for stds everything is fine and i have also had blood work done and everything came back normal other then high cholesterol and i am anemic which runs in my family. Can stress and anxiety really allow for all of this to happen?! my therapist says its true, but I just wanna know if anyone else has experienced these things.

Definitely! I was in the hospital about a month ago for constant vomiting, headaches, joint pain, night sweats, and A TON of other unexplained symptoms. When I told the doctors about my stress depression, stress, and anxiety they told me that anxiety problems can cause all of those physical symptoms. Anyone who says that anxiety disorders are all in the head is completely wrong

I think that's the hardest part of the anxiety/depression/panic attacks, the physical symptoms.  My anxiety does the craziest things to my body. What you have can definitely be attributed to anxiety. Most people who have anxiety/panic attacks have been tested for almost everything! Just this week I've been to the doctor three times. I've had a ton of blood work done (my doctor says I'm completely healthy) and even a neck x-ray bc my neck has been killing me and I'm having radiating pain down my arms and into my hands.I also have a facial twitch. Every doctor I saw this week said all of this is from anxiety. I'm driving my husband and Mom crazy because I keep going to the doctor. You're not alone in this fight! I hope you start feeling better soon!

I have had anxiety attacks and I know what those do. I can believe that constant anxiety and stress could cause your problems.

Hard to even imagine that it can only be anxiety doing all this to you. That can be a hard thing to get your head around. Especially when you hear people say that anxiety is all in the mind. So really it is the mind bringing on all these symptoms. I used to get lumps on my tongue. Just when my anxiety used to be bad. Not had them in years. But it shows just what it can do. People will have various symptoms. The list is probably endless. Just read through some of the posts on the forum. See all the things anxiety is doing to people. Powerful thing. I am sure your therapist also says that if the mind can work against you, it can also work for you. Learning how to use it to better your condition is the hard part. Far easier to use it to harm us. When you are down it is like a big slope you can't climb back up out of. Just a case of getting on a role and then things will all seem so much easier. It can change as easy as that.
