Can you find another apartment that does accept animals? 6 weeks is a long time to find other options and nothing is ever set in stone, e.g. you and your family do not have to move to this place. I couldnt ever imagine giving up my pets and would do everything in my power not to do so.
You could always ask another family member or friend if they can look after your dog for a few months or put her into a kennel for that time while you sort things out.
Alot of places don't aloud dogs I have to move cause it's not a safe place living here. The neighborhood is getting bad. I wish I can afford a house but I can't.
Are you sure there aren't other places that do except dogs? I know that more and more places are becoming opened to pets...if not, I am sure that you will find a good home for your puppy...I can't even imagine how hard it must be...I love my dog so much.......
wow i know how you feel , it dont take much to make me feel stressed. when we got our new house , i was so happy but on other hand so scared/stressed to move , now it was only 15 mins from my old house but it was still a change for me, i dont like change i have stress when i do, i get the tingling in the ears/head and a sinking feeling. i ve been going through it now for 3 months but last 3 days have been so much better, you need take one thing at a time, if you cant take her with you , be looking for a home for her , so you know shes happy and well loved. packing is enought to send me in a panic attack. i took one room at a time closed it off when it was done and felt good about it .
stress will do many things to you , you just have to put your self in control and not your mind, it will take over if you let it than watch out your in trouble than. i was switched to atenolol, for months of pac, but my body just could not adjust to the side affects tiredness/weakness sick stomack, and so much stress anxeity, so i went off of it and back onto timolol which i have been on for 15 years, the next day i felt so much better , well i really felt better the night i said no more atenolol, so was it in my mind. i feel good now some stress but very little i deal with it now,or when bad pop a .5 mg ativan , so take it slow one day at a time do the best you can and start again the next day, you say the move will be good , so ya can get into a safer place, so thats good, and think about the puppy as you get her a new home and know they will love her as much as you do, its hard i know i could not move and give up mine i would have to find a place where he could go , but i know it dont always work out , so good luck and try not stress over this because once you move that will be over and you will be lost sleep, nerves for that. keep head up
Ill take one day at a time. Im so exhausted. email ***@**** and Ill tell you why Im moving cause I don't want to post it I did once and some reason medhelp took it off. You will definilty know why IM moving quick. If you want email me your email address and Ill explain why so stress for 2 months now. It's starting to be a bad neighborhood but it's more to it.
bip - whatever the reason is that is causing you to move, it sounds like this is something you are doing for yourself/family so kudos to you for getting out of this situation.... I know it can't be easy and moving is one of the most stressful things in ones life!
That being said, you still have time to look at other housing options in the new area that you will be moving too. Do you feel comfortable posting a "general" area you are moving too? Maybe, some of us can find links to alternative housing which will allow a pet.
I currently live in a small town (10,000 people) and drove 2000 miles to get here over 3 days last year with only a car full of clothes, a TV, a blow-up bed, and some dishes/cutlery. I got here on a Thursday evening and had a place to rent and was "moved in" by the following Monday - this is the 3rd time I have done this (moved somewhere and found a place within a week). Your case is a little more difficult because your family is moving and its a "real" move which requires a little more planning BUT, if I can find a place in small town in 3 days, I think you can find a place that will accept your dog over the next month.
In terms of buying your own home..... There are lots of government assisted programs out there to help low income families and finacing available for families with credit problems (including those that have decleared bankruptcy). I dont know what your situation is but if you fall into any of these catergories you may be able to qualify for a loan. Something to think about.
