effexor and lexapro

My doctor is switching me from Effexor to Lexapro. I was on 150 mg of effexor for 2-3 years and recently have been tapering off down to 50 mg. My doctor says I should start Lexapro now but I am scared to take it while taking Effexor but Effexor withdrawals are bothering me even though I am slowly tapering off.

Is it safe to take SNRI (effexor) with SSRI (lexapro)? Anyone took it together?

St JOhns Wart is one of the worst herbals out there. Most of them are not approved & interfere with so many of the organs & other medications you may be on. If you felt better before this herb, think about removing it from your daily routine. Most vitamins are just expensive urine.

SSRIs are intended to STOP the cycling of seritonin, the hormone that makes you happy. Please read up, educate yourself before taking anything. Youtube is great for this. Just educate. I learned this after several bad 'episodes' of many, many medications to try to feel better.

i took lexapro without any problems with withdrawal when my military pharmacy took it off their formulary. i tried wellbutrin and got a rare reaction to it--a rash from hell. i went on effexor xr 75mg. then. took it for about 4 yrs. it stopped working  so i have tapered off of it. talk about horrible withdrawal sxs. awful!! i have successfully selftreated those. i have read that lexapro has withdrawal sxs. very similar to effexor. would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression. talking with God is the topmost healer. i am a retired nurse.and i definitely do not think we need half the rx. pills we take. i will gradually reduce the over the counter meds. i take when the effexor withdrawal sxs. subside.

and yea I have fear of meds and fear the serotonin syndrome
