Freaking out over possible fever

I just took my temperature because I was feeling warm and I couldnt get cool and my temp read 99.3.  I am 17 years old (18 in 2 days) I dont know if age matters but Im wondering if that is a fever...I am a hypochondriac so this is freaking me out a little.  I do not feel sick at all, and havent all day besides a headache (that I contributed to laying around doing bored all day).  I took 3 advil for my headache about 25 minutes ago, and retook my temp and it was 99.0.  But i dont know if it went down because of the advil or because I took it sitting next to the A/C.  Does a 99.3 temp a fever? Does it mean I am sick? Im so scared to be sick..and Im also so scared of not knowing whether Im sick or not...i just want to ease my mind

Thank you guys so much for the input..it puts my mind at ease.  I read so many different things online so I have no idea what is normal or not.  It keeps changing from 99.3 to 99.1...it goes back and forth.  I never normally take my temperature, so I dont even know what my norm is. I dont feel sick at all so logically I dont think i am sick, but my anxiety kicks in and I start absolutely freaking out. Pretty much would rather die then be sick (specifically throwing up...I have emetophobia)

Wow Im sorry to hear that you worry so much because you are just 17! You are sooo young!  I wish I was 17 again lol Don't worry that is normal temperature. take care of yourself!

You do not have a fever per se in that it is just barely elevated from that of normal.  The lowering of it will come from the advil you took and not from sitting in front of the A/C.  I would not be surprised if the advil took your temperature back down to normal and your headache away.  So try to relax.  Find something to take your mind off of this such as reading a book, doing some meditation, etc.  You are going to be just fine.

A temperature is not a fever unless it's above 100.2 (or maybe 100.4) 99.3 is very normal. You have to consider (and remember) than a perfect body temperature is 98.6 degrees. Yours is barely above that.

Don't worry about being sick (or that you are sick) otherwise you'll MAKE yourself sick.
