Anxiety Burps

After reading about peoples' experiences with anxiety, it's a huge relief to know I'm not alone. Which makes me wonder if this is more common then we thought and we are not that nutty after all, makes me wonder if it could be something in our environment that is affecting us. Who knows!

I do find that if my mind is not occupied and I'm idle listening to my heart rate I start to fell anxious and panicky. I used to be a wild and funny laid back chilled out fun loving kind of girl. Not a care in the world and that I would live forever. Now I find myself trying to relax, breathe and exercise the ol' coping mechanism.

Good Luck to all your experiences are inspirational!

Wow... the female version of myself.  I use to be the same way.  Never gave a second thought about dying.  Well, nothing more than the usual anyway.  Then one day, poof.  Something triggers anxiety and you're stuck with it.

Luckily, i'm not on any meds.  I've talked with a couple different psych doctors that have been very beneficial help.  The most helpful thing for me is something my sister told me.  If you can make it worse, you can make it better.  Your mind has the power to make your body feel things that are bothersome.  It also has the power to reverse those feelings.  It just takes patience.  But the fact that you KNOW it's anxiety can help set your mind at ease.

Anyway, glad the forum is a help to you.  Hope your tomorrow is a better day than today. :)

I am glad that you are getting so much out of this community!  I encourage to stay active and share your thoughts and concerns with us.  Health anxiety is what started it for me and many others; but the good thing is that you can see so many people end up THRIVING with this.  I honestly believe that it has made me a better person...remember it is the challenges that shape who we are and what we do in life.

Losing ones sense of self-identity is quite common with anxiety in my opinion...you will be that laid back person again.  You just have to learn about it and confront it, just like any other challenge in life...again, welcome and we are glad you are here!
