Hcv transmission through a scratch

Hello everyone, first thank you to all who will respond to my question.  So approx. 3 weeks ago I was accidentally scratched by a co-worker on my forearm about (1/2 in) causing me to bleed.  If this person was HCV positive what is the risk here? I know it's blood-to-blood and it's not like the person poured blood onto my cut but I'm just anxious and can't stop thinking about it? Should I get tested?  The main reason I ask is because I've been having RUQ pain as well as LUQ pain and RLQ pain with lower back pain too for the past week.  Could this all be from stress and me thinking about it non-stop?

I would have to agree that you should ask these questions in the OCD forum. This is clearly where your anxiety lies.

You were told in your previous posts that your problem is not hepatitis but it is anxiety or perhaps obsessive compulsive disorder.
You state:
"Could this all be from stress and me thinking about it non-stop? "

Yes, that's it. Please get help for your problem which is not hep C.
There is an OCD forum on medhelp and I think an anxiety group. That is where you should be posting.

Good day.

"If this person was HCV positive what is the risk here?"

Thats a big IF and no you are not at risk unless that person was bleeding.

"I know it's blood-to-blood and it's not like the person poured blood onto my cut but I'm just anxious and can't stop thinking about it?"

If you already know this then why do you ask, perhaps you should see a doc of some sort to get the anxiety problem under control.

If you are still worried then wait the recommended amout of time and get tested again

Have a great day

My previous comment was from a previous exposure, this is new.  I can't tell if that was sarcastic or not, but I was just referring to this new "exposure".  What is my risk here?

Yes, the same tests you previously wrote about. Please let us know how the new tests turn out. Good luck.

"Hi everyone, basically I went and had a hep C antibody done at 13 weeks and 1 day post exposure. My test came back with the my result reading less than 0.1. I started to get anxious when I saw the 0.1 because if I was truly negative wouldn't it be 0.0? Do I require further testing? Someone please help me out here!! "

"The negative range it gave was 0.0-0.8. I paid for a qualitative hcv pcr and got that at 8 weeks which came back negative. I just can't get all this out of my mind! "

"I mean I would think that if I was or was going to be hcv positive, I would surely have a reference value greater than 0.1 at 13 weeks right? And for the fact that it says less than 0.1 it should be pretty conclusive?"
