Help!!

Hi guys. I am going through a really rough time right now. My husband, who was an ex addict, recently fell off the wagon and I am having a hard time dealing with it. When he uses, he becomes very violent and scares me. Consequently, I have been really keyed up since last week, very restless, extreme tightness in my chest and panic attacks all over the place. Is chest tightness normal? Is it bad? I haven't had this symptom very much so I am scared. I went to the ER on Sunday and all was okay. I have also recently seen a cardiologist who did all the tests, all good, strong heart. But what if I am so stressed that I cause myself a heart attack? I am really scared right now!

being under stress/anxiety can cause chest tightness i suffer from it a lot, believe the tests im sure you will be fine. it is not fair that your hubby is putting you through this, is he getting help? if he can get violent its bound to make you anxious therefore the panic symptoms will be with you.
did the doctor prescribe anything to help with the panics?
i hope you are well

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your situation. You have to believe the tests ! Like mentioned before in other threads, this is what anxiety does ! It feeds on your fear, like a fire. I heard from many the tightness of the chest is a very common symptom!
I am not saing you shoul dtake it lightly, but you have had the tests, believe it, accept it and don't fight it. It helps so much to accept it. Maybe getting out of your current relationship woul dmake the world of difference, but you have probably heard this before !
I am 49 and I know how much our surroundings have to do with our emotional well being!
You can beat this, you can ! Meditation, medication and a love for your self will eventually nip this in the butt!  You have to take care of YOU, just as you do your children! If you ever need to talk, drop me a line~  All the best to you !
