How long does Klonopin last in your system?

It seems that when I take one .25mg dose of Klonopin to help with the side effect symptoms of Lexapro as I enter my 2nd week on it... I can feel the "calming effect" a good 24 hours later even... does one dose of Klonopin last that long? Also I know people on here say you have to take it regularly to have an effect... in my case... within one hour of taking it I am "chilled out".....and I don't take it everyday... I guess everyone reacts differently...

Well im also taking it to counter side effects of Lexapro so the other thing could be is that I am starting to adapt to the lexapro and don't need it as often... who knows but yeah so far thats how it has been working for me.. so if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess right?

If it's working for you the way you're taking it, great!  Some people DO take Klonopin on an "as needed" basis, it's just that the most optimal use of this med is to take it regularly.

Usually a person takes 2 doses a day, 8-12 hours apart.  Typically, after 12 hours, some will start noticing a decrease in the effects if not re-dosed.  If a person has been on Klonopin for a while, that wouldn't be as much the case, because it would have had a chance to build up in the plasma.

Like I said...if it is working for you this way...that's super!  Everyone is different!
