How to move forward...

Hi

I suffer from really bad health anxiety and put myself at low risk for contracting STD/HIV 3 months ago. I've had 4 tests throughout and to the end of the window period for HIV and can't accept the good news. I will  be attending CBT soon but would love to hear from anyone on how to diminish these awful negative thoughts.

Thank you.

Well after four tests its clear that you don't have anything, I'd withold from being tested again, and just try to forget about it (yes I know, not as easy as it sounds) but everytime you start to think about it, do something to distract you. If after at least (I do mean at least! lol) 2 months of this you find yourself still anxious, then maybe you should visit your GP and tell him your concerns.
Could there be an underlying cause that's making you anxious, and causing this behaviour?

Yep. It's become an obsessive thing to keep testing for reassurance then I feel ok for a while. After around a week I think I have it again. Please any advice would be beneficial.

Little confused, your results were negative but your still thinking you might have it after four negative test results? :S
