Sounds like you are having some anxiety problems....I would suggest you talk with someone about it....a therapist or even a good close friend....I dont think you have schizophrenia I think you are just scared from seeing your friend that you say may be psychotic......but I am no doctor so I would suggest if this is scaring you and you are obsessing about it maybe you should go an talk with someone that could ease your mind on things....Hope you get to feeling better soon....keep us posted ok..
God Bless
You must remember that you knew your friend was "kinda mental" before he started smoking weed. The pot smoking is probably self-medication. You only smoked a couple of times. Trust me. You are not going to have long-term mental issues caused by that. Anxiety can make you obsess over just about anything. Normal healthy people sometimes have anxiety. There is help out there. Go to tour Doctor and tell him what's going on. You could have something as common as fluid in your inner rear. Let us know how you do. Feel better!
Dude alejandro take it from me. I ve been smoking weed from 17 every day until i was 23.... I had my paranoias, my freak outs, my mood swings. And i can assure you that i am completely healthy from using weed my anxiety thought is an other issue it makes me very delusional and paranoid..... i think in your case pre existing anxiety in combination with the weed. Drove you in some kind of freak out and you are now convincing your self that you are mentally ill,,,\
Smoking weed twice won't make you insane. Not unless it was laced with PCP or some other chemical narcotic, but even then, it's rare that it will cause any lasting mental side effects from one or two uses.
Your anxiety over the weed and the comparing the condition of your friend is furhter feeding your already existing anxieties. Lay off the weed and try to get a handle on your anxiety. You're not schizo or insane. Just prone to panic attacks or anxiety.
Thanks all of you for your comments i convinced my mOm to take me to a COunsoler just to be sure I'm not skitzo and if I do have anxiety issues have any of you heard of the linden method I heard it has a 97% rate that it will cure u and if it don't it has q year money back guarantee
Yea alejandro i am a satisfied costumer of the lindel method its very good and it really WORKS i think it will give you many answers that you seek.
But go to the counselor if you want see what he/she have to say. i bet he will diagnose you with anxiety and maybe panic attacks. if he does get a copy of the linden method it will help you tremendously.... i follow the method for some months now and i feel much better....
Really ? Thatz awesome btw are you completely cured. I hear so many rumors about this being a scam and such. But I'm glad I acualy met someone that it had worked for them btw could u private message me ad maybe give me a call I really would like to know more because I think my anxiety is making me depressed
Btw do you still smoke man?
Yeah i still do man almost every day, maybe 6/7 days a week. Sometimes i get paranoid more when i smoke but i have learned to control it. And stop it before it makes me panic. I avoid smoking alone.
I also make sure that i am accompanied by interesting and fun people that will make me forget of my problems and make me focus in having a good time together.
I had good and bad experiences with drugs. really really good and really really bad But i can say that the good ones where more than the bad ones and that the overall experience even the bad ones helped me to become a stronger and more well rounded as a person and character.... even though i waisted some of my brain cells... (which i think is a lie)
Therefore dont stress out bro..... There is no devil weed that will make you insane there just experiences that will make you wiser in the long run..... and i am not saying to start smoking weed and you will become wiser..... although it is awesome.... But the reality is that when you make a conscious decision in smoking weed or not smoking weed at all or smoking occasionally you are wiser cause you know why your doing it.
yeah, maybe thats the reason why are still not 100% cured lol well ty for the info im the schools comp so ill ttyl peace!
Hhahahhah i ll be so disappointed in weed if its that the reason.... But for now i really trust MJ. Contact me any time bro!!!!
Svenski is the most badass member of medhelp!!!!!!!!!
Everything I've heard about the Linden method has been negative. Charles Linden is no different than you or I. I've had anxiety long enough to call myself an expert, too.
That's your problem your going off what people said not what u have experienced
alejandro...welcome! BTW, one of my VERRRRY best friends in HS was a guy named Alejandro and I just loved him...he was awesome! Anyway....
You've got excellent advice here from everyone. With anxiety, there are a ton of different ways to approach treatment. Some choose meds, therapy, natural supplements, lifestyle changes, meditation, self help routes, you name it. Some people use more than one method as a tool to tackle anxiety. It doesn't really matter what you choose, as long as you have success. Your doc is a great place to start, as he/she can rule out any possible medical conditions that could be mimicking anxiety (ie thyroid disorders), and then discuss with you some anxiety treatment options.
If you want to try the Linden Method, feel free...just don't pay gobs of money for any of these self help treatments, not until you have perhaps tried more traditional routes first, or if you can get the program(s) for reduced cost. They can be VERY pricey! There are even some great books out there that can be a big help. One that comes to mind that a lot of people have raved about (myself included) is "The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook".
I CAN tell you, and you will find this over and over on this forum, that drugs and alcohol exacerbate anxiety something fierce in a vast majority of people. I'm not saying you will never be able to smoke weed again, but for now, until you get a handle on the anxiety, you would be wise to steer clear of all substances. It isn't the drug itself that causes anxiety, rather the feelings drugs give you, which can trigger panic and anxiety. It's VERY common. If you search this forum regarding MJ and anxiety...you'll find a whole day's worth of reading.
Very best to you...you're taking an all important step in regaining your life and taking the control away from the anxiety.
Lastly, you are not "insane" or "schizo". People who have psychotic illnesses are out of touch with reality and don't KNOW that their thoughts and hallucinations aren't real. The fear of being "crazy" is another VERY common one with anxiety and panic...and a secondary depression is also par for the course.
Keep in touch with us, okay?
People on here try to let you know what they have tried or heard of, be it negative or positive. Ask specifically about the Linden method in a new thread and see what kind of responses you get. That may be helpful. There are no easy or fast fixes for anxiety. We all find different things helpful. There is no need to be defensive or angry because there are differences in opinions. You can certainly try the Linden method. Just wanted to give you the other side of the coin. I have read up on it and found it to be interesting, but I did not find a whole lot of merit. Sometimes if you only take advice from one person and don't listen to all the voices, your decision is not as informed. I still do not believe that you acquired long term anxiety from smoking pot two times unless you believe this and obsess about it. Good luck with whatever treatment you decide upon. The most important part is staying positive and seeking some kind of therapy. Good luck and let us know how you do.
i'm glad youre going to see a doc about your anxiety. im sorry i didnt get back to your last message about the linden method. i dont know anything about it, im more of a traditional route type person and stick to therapy. but it sounds like you got enough advice from others about it.
i can tell you that my boyfriend smokes pot daily to calm his anxiety. hes very anxious when he doesn't smoke and very irritable and cranky as well. i always dread when he runs out of pot because he acts like hes pms'ing without it. but me on the otherhand, ive smoked pot a handful of times in my life and im 26...maybe 7 or 8 times at most, and i ALWAYS get panic attacks from it. so everyone reacts differently. it honestly just sounds like the pot gave you a panic attack, which isnt uncommon, and now youre freaked out from the panic attack.
pot can not give you long lasting mental disorders...i dont even think pcp or lsd can either. i may have to check my facts (just graduated for drug and alcohol counseling, but there are so many substances to keep track of) but from what i can remember theres only a handful of substances that can really fry your brain, and pot definitley isnt one of them. good luck with the doc and message me anytime. im typically good at responding. i just had a hectic couple of days and couldnt respond to your last message.
I find myself thinking about my mental health 24/7 seem that when I forget about it I'm ok then I remember o **** ! I might be skitzo or phichotic Then I ****** start asking my self questions then I feel like what if I'm not here I'm so sick of this I can't record a damn drum beat with my band cuz I'm scared of just going crazy goddam I'm so pist I'm constantly thinking of my anxiety !!!!
although not perfectly and by the book but i try to follow it.
I my self had obsessive thought phobias irrational fears
I have reached a point that became obsessive compulsive taking panicking over symptoms. Couldn't sleep right , nightmares going to health providers asking stupid questions.
You see my friend Life is short and some things you have to DEFEAT no matter what.
So i re-searched, I even followed a shrink that did not do much as i could not come clear to her.
Then i downloaded a pack about depression as i was really depressed. And i thought that that was my main problem and as i was searching i came across Charles Linden who has put together a anti anxiety program that guides you.A self help thing. AND ITS THE ONLY THING YOU NEED. Cause only your self is perpetuating this ocd and irrational thoughts. if you eliminate the thought you can defeat it. and this you must do it by your self. no one can do it for you.
It really brought my stress and anxiety levels down i am not saying that i am 100% cured but i can control most of this thoughts and i do not panic over them.
Charles Linden has put together a program that its very effective. I am not advertising for him or anything but his program is great. It has step by step guidelines on how to get rid of your anxieties phobias and panic attacks. The only thing you have to do is trust that you do not suffer of any illness and put all your faith in what this guy is telling you because it is the truth of what is happening to you.
check out his site.
