I'm Scared!!!

I feel like I am going insane at the moment. I've had many symptoms over the past 4 months (heart racing, chest pain, muscle stiffness, stomach pain, bloating, headaches even tiredness now cause I'm struggling to sleep). Been to my GPs over many things and I keep thinking I am dying from testicular cancer, even now I feel that way crying my eyes over what to do or who to talk to. I'm only 21 I shouldn't be doing this but I'm scared, I don't know what to do.

you need to get a full work-up and than you will see its only anxiety causing this, its in your mind that you have it so your body is giving you all kinds ackes and pains to go along with it. go to dr its a real fast easy test, you will see again that your ok. belive it this time and move on your so young dont put yourself into a life of anxiety , its no fun and before you know it you will be old and wondering where your life went and wishing you had not worried over that and lived your life. so go enjoy while you can you never know what is down your path.

Sorry, I'm not thinking straight. It's because I found a lump in my right testicle about 7 months ago, had an ultrasound done and was confirmed to be a cyst, which I was relieved about. For 3 months I was fine after that, despite having discomfort around the groin etc. I put it down to the cyst. But in January after some shaky spells getting down on myself more than usual, I had chest pains develop one night and has developed with other symptoms since then. I keep thinking there is something wrong with my testicles even now I believe so.

I'm not sure WHY you would think you have testicular cancer (perhaps you can enlighten us) but I've got a pitcher of ice-cold martinis sitting here that says if you can figure that out -you'll be closer to solving the whole riddle of why you've got the panic and anxiety thing going on.

Presumably your GP or somebody has suggested that you have anxiety -as opposed to all those other "could be" things, but why not check the list and typical scenarios. Hover over my name, then go to my profile in the little box that pops up and then read the jorunal called -Could it Be (and any others you like while your there).

And THEN go to the Healthpages (upper right of screen) select FAQS and have a gander at all the long list of reported symptoms which by no means is complete.

Looks like anxiety may be the hobgoblin here. But lets get down to brass tacks, here Sonic. Instead of messing around with this piecemeal, get a referral for a psychiatric workup and tell the shrink that yes you really DO think you need to be checked for all the other stuff -at least to a point- so you can lay your mind to rest about THAT -and get to work on the anxiety.

And getting to work means just that -talk therapy to figure out what's going on -and make the necessary mental corrections. And maybe some medication to sort of help you through the rough patches; be aware, however, that if you reply on meds ALONE, you may be dealing with this a very long time -so get the therapy also.

And also spend time around here; help a few people out, learn the ropes, and continue to lay out your story.

OK?

I know but being in the UK, I don't know who to ask about it. GP is shut at weekends. Unless I go to A & E about it I don't know.

You need to go get a full physical complete with blood work, tell them what you think and let them address it. If afterwards you get a clean bill of health and you still think something is wrong then it will be time to see a therapist. I think a clean bill of health might set your mind at ease.

I am in a similar situation but my health fear is something else.
