Will you please let me know what outcome was.  I am going for CT scan tomorrow and feel as you did.  Have I got ovarian cancer.  I have deep depression so is it in my head?  Scared.  Can you put my mind at rest? Anxiety and agitation just thinking about it.

Remember we always think the worst?  Yet what we fear never comes true?  I do not think that you have cancer.  When was the last time you had a gynecological exam?  If you had it a year ago they would have found some cancer cells in your cervix when getting the Pap smear.

Believe me I know what you are going through.  I too always think the worst.  Starting at the age of 30 every time my Pap smear came back with "pre-cancerous" lesions.  Besides that I had a very large fibroid tumor and a very large cyst.  At age 38 I finally agreed to a hysterectomy and I have not felt better since, and wish I had let them do it when they wanted to which was 4 yrs earlier.

we all think the worst you don't have to apologize for it =)  it's just easier to not think the worst when it's not about you.  that's why we all need eachother in here!!

i think anything that could have developed in that 6 months, would be easy to overcome since you'd catch it early.

also, now i'm basically positive that it's not ovarian cancer.  because like i said in 6 months time even rapidly growing cancer would be too underdeveloped to start showing symptoms!!!

you're good bip!!  :-)   (but still go to the doctor it'll help you feel better and you still don't know what it is so you know it's good to find out.  and of course i'm not a doctor but i'm PRETTY sure my last statement was right)

now i would suggest not even returning to medhelp at all today anymore.  not even this forum.  there's nothing at all that will help you by talking about it, when you should be taking your mind off it.  don't go on google either!  if you have the ability to get up and do something active right now, do it.  because right now your goal is just to wait for the doctors appt.

best of luck!

I have every single symptom of a heart attack.  Not kidding, every one.  But I am not having a heart attack and I have seen four cardios to confirm it.  Still I have the same symptoms and they still scare me.  As zen11 said, the mind is so very powerful and I think for us, plays on our worst fears.  Don't let it get to you!!  Where are your boys?  Take them out or play a game or read to them.  Don't google anything, don't go to other forums, don't make yourself more anxious than you need to be.  Wait for your appointment and go from there.  I'm sure you'll be fine, I know you are worried.  Redirect your thought process and you'll find it easier and the day will pass.

Now if I could only do the same.......

Take Care.

have you tried taking any OTC treatments for the bloating and see if that helps?

of course, i don't know if that would really tell you anything but maybe if it makes it go away it's probably not cancer, right?  just guessing.

If he/she is a good doctor, they will have an idea but that should be the last thing on your mind.
Good luck with the appointment. Let us know how it goes.

hatgal had symptoms she wasn't quite sure about. She thought they were symptoms of ovarian cancer.  She visited the ovarian cancer forum a lot BUT I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO THAT, it'll just make matters worse.  Just wait until your appointment on Monday.

I don't know why hatgal is no longer here. I tried asking her and she said that she had been busy but that she was gonna post about her situation and never did.

I get them often.  Especially, when it's that time of the month or if I eat the wrong foods.  I brought the "gassiness" up to my OB/GYN, I also mentioned ovarian cancer and he said no not at my age.  You're pretty young, so the chances that you have ovarian cancer is small.  And like I said, those symptoms are common and can be caused by just about anything.  You just need to check it out with your doctor for reassurance.

I'm sorry about your grandma.  How old was she when she died of ovarian cancer?

P.S. It's too bad "hatgal" doesn't frequent this forum anymore, she knew a lot about ovarian cancer and was also concerned with it.

maybe thsoe symptoms are signs of cancer, but just because you have them doesn't mean it IS cancer.  they're also common symptoms of many many other things that aren't anything life-threatening.

but you know if you frequently worry about cancer i would recommend taking an astragalus supplement daily, especially if you aren't getting your fruits & veggies.  it's all natural, and it's got strong anticancer and immune-boosting properties.  of course it's not a miracle and you should always get your antioxidants & phytonutrients from fruits & veggies, but cancer IS preventable in almost all cases just by eating right.  it's never too late to start.  even if you did end up having cancer, taking astragalus can actually reverse cancer growth (not in all cases and once again you still need to get in fruits & veggies).

so i think maybe if you take preventative steps and get in all your fruits & veggies, not only does it greatly reduce the risk of cancer, but hopefully it would also help you worry less.  there's also a product you can take that contains the phytonutrients & antioxidants from 7 servings of fruits & veggies.  take it 3 times a day and you've got a significantly reduced risk of cancer pretty soon.

best of luck at your appointment!  try not to think about it in the meantime (i know i know, that's impossible!  but the busier you keep yourself the easier it is to take your mind off it so try being a little more active in the meantime)

hope that helps!

I get these symptoms frequently.  I actually have some of them right now.  I know DEFINITELY that I do not have ovarian cancer because I just had surgery last month and my doctor actually looked at my ovaries.  And I dont' think you do either.  These are very common symptoms in women and can be caused by many things.  I know it's hard, we've all been there but you should focus on the positive and distract your mind until your appointment.  Guess what I have a doctor's appointment on Monday too!  I am trying very hard to not think about it.  So we're in the same boat.  Good luck!

Hi,

I'm studying psychology now and am recovered from bad anxiety.  The mind can manifest itself in physical ways.  Any physical complaints you can think of, the mind can create it.  I won't go into all that the mind can create, because I don't want to worry you.  But the good thing is that it is psychologically based.  Try to observe, rather than react to the anxious symptoms.  It is hard to do, but you will get better with practice.  Deep breathing is a good one too.

Bip, You have to stop this.  You do not have cancer!  You just had tests done 6 months ago.  It is from your fibroid and your anxiety.  I wish I was there to give you a big hug and you can give me one too.  I am having a hard time also with the lump under my tongue, but I am trying very hard to believe that it is nothing.  There are many other things that it can be.  You are like me and go straight to the thoughts of cancer.  This has always been my phobia and I see it is yours too.  Your anxiety is running away with you.  Try to take deep breaths and keep telling yourself that it is nothing serious.
