Oh, I'm sorry. =/ I do mean my next annual check-up. I don't know..I avoid people my age and only talk to older people..but I'll try. I am thinking of you too..
Yes, I still have insomnia and I don't expect it to get better. I started taking some medication to help me sleep when I was around 20yrs and now I am addicted to it and can't sleep at all without it. It's best to get to the bottom of why you have a sleep problem than take medication for it forever, but from your posts, your family doesn't sound like they're there for you so i'm sure that's part of your problem at the very least. I wish I never ever started taking medication to sleep...it's become a real nightmare..LOL
I am so sorry to hear your family life isn't any better....this is where a therapist will come in for you. You can talk and vent all you want and hopefully, between you and your dr, you can figure out how to be happy in the years to come.
I hope you don't mean your next ANNUAL check-up. If you do, have you noticed the new teenage depression forum? Maybe you could get some insight from others in your age group because you are definitely not alone in your unhappiness, colfette. I sure wish these forums existed when I was a teenager, but of course the internet didn't even exist then.
Thinking of you..............
Oh..well I didn't really get them to do anything...I was at the doctors for a check-up, and I told her about my sleeping problem. She said when I go for the next check-up, we would be able to talk about the psychiatrist thing more. My parents have forgotten about my sleeping problem and I don't plan on telling them because they would just say I'm crazy and never speak of it again. :/ You still have insomnia?
There you are honey. I have thought of you many times since your first post on another forum many months ago now. So you finally got your family to get you to the doctor. Excellent. I so hope they're being supportive. You were having such trouble with them a while ago. As far as describing insomnia, I'm not sure what to say other than "it's trouble sleeping." This, of course, is not normal and your doctor is right to recommend a pshychiatrist. Usually, a person has trouble sleeping because their life is unhappy for what ever reason. Your posts a few months ago sounded very very unhappy. I have had insomnia since I was a teenager too. My homelife was unacceptable and I started seeing a psych when I was 17yrs. It helped me a lot. I hope you decide to see one, I think it's the right choice.
Good luck honey and keep posting for support. I'll be watching for you. Take care.
