You certainly have much to contend with in your life and I'm sorry for that.
Hyperventelating can bring on an anxiety attack or make one much worse. I would recommend you learn about rebreathing so that you can get your levels of oxygen/carbon dioxide back in balance. Taking a few slow, deep breaths into a paper bag held tightly over your nose and mouth will help accomplish this. Isn't very high-tech, but it works for me.
You are on quite a stew of meds, which your current doctor seems to change frequently, but not being a doctor or pharmacist, I can't begin to understand how they may be interacting/affecting you. You said that your breathing difficulties, which are new for you, have not gotten any better, and yet your doctor seems to be doing nothing about that except to put you on Klonopin, which obviously isn't working.
Have you been able to see seperate specialists for your disorders or are you just seeing your GP? If so, I would urge you, if at all possible, to find specialists for each area and get everyone working for you as a team. I would also urge you to seek out some therapy to help you deal emotionally with all of this..........you're carrying a heavy load and you don't have to do it alone.
Your question boils down to the fact you don't know what's wrong and you don't think your doctor does either, which I'm tending to agree with you about. I think you have lost faith in him, which is totally understandable and personally I would find a new one as soon as possible. He seems to think like a bad mechanic..........if he keeps throwing enough pills at you, SOMETHING will eventually work. A good mechanic figures out what's WRONG and then puts the CORRECT part in.
I hope you can get the help you need.
Let us know how you're doing, OK? Write as often as you need..............
Peace
