It is very common to pull or strain a muscle and not even it know it until a day or two later when we suddenly have this "mysterious" pain/tenderness and have no recollection of doing anything. But maybe you hauled the Hoover upstairs or got tired of waitng for DH to get the Christmas decorations down from the attic or wrestled your 500 pound poodle into the dogwash so he didn't stink up the turkey dinner......there are thousands of ways we can pull or strain muscles.
Like I said before, I'd wait a few days and see where this goes, if it begins to improve, then I think you can assume it was just a pulled muscle. If it stays as painful or gets worse, see your doc.
A couch, a heating pad, lots of chocolate, your blankie and some old movies is what I, as an utterly unqualified non-professional recommend.
If you can't NOT worry, don't wreck your holiday......go ahead and see your doctor. Tis the season for peace (of mind)

Could you have pulled a muscle?
This doesn't sound like any disease I've heard of. Is it possible you may have carried something heavy that bruised the areas that are tender to the touch? There doesn't have to be an actual bruise for the muscles to be tender. While I certainly don't advocate ignoring this, I'd give it a few days to "heal," if it remains as tender or gets worse, by all means see your doctor.
Often when we have a tender spot, we tend to touch and push and prod it way too much which only increases the tenderness. Try your best not to keep poking at the area.
