Is this Anxiety, or a neck problem?

For the past 2 years I have suffered an immense amount of symptoms which my GP has assured me are purely Anxiety. He has checked me for everything else apart from Anxiety, and I have had almost every scan and test possible.

The symptoms I get now include:

Numbness accross my chest and down my left arm, which can sometimes be better and sometimes worse, and can also sometimes appear in my left calf.

Tension at the back of my head and neck which can be releived by laying flat or applying pressure to my neck muscles and masaging them.

Random heart palpitations.
Dizziness
Lack of balance (only occasional)
Headaches.

I have had loads of tests and scans, such as:

I have had a head MRI (Without contrast),
Blood tests,
Neck x-rays,
Chest x-rays,
A 24-hour heart ECG,
Balance test where the doctor asked me to close my eyes, look up at the ceiling and put my feet together.
Heart Ultrasound

Could this problem be something in my neck? I have a clicking noise when I turn my head, and you can feel it in my neck as if it is something rubbing or out of place, but clearly there is nothing wrong as the X-ray showed my neck was fine.

What on earth could explain these symptoms? I doubt it is a brain tumor, as the symptoms used to be extremely worse a year ago, and they have gotten better, apart from the numbness, neck problems and random palpitations.

What could explain all of this?

If it helps, I am 18 years of age (Male), weighing 9.13 Stones, 5.5ft tall and I work out quite a lot and get quite a lot of excercise.

The good thing is that you have had a battery of tests that show that there is nothing inherently physically wrong with you.  Anxiety and panic can cause all sorts of symptoms in my experience with it.  Health anxiety is quite common in this forum and we all tend to share many of the same experiences.

In my opinion, we can become so oversensitized and hyper-aware of anything going on in the area that concerns us, that we are going to feel every little pain, twinge....anything that we deem out of the ordinary.  In my experience, we also associate many normal everyday feelings with something that is inherently physically wrong with us.  For example, when I turn my neck from side to side I can hear cracking and popping sounds, but since it doesn't worry me, I tend not pay it much attention, but to someone who is acutely aware of it and is nervous about what it means their perception can be quite different.
Have you or have you been in any counseling for your anxiety?  It is a very powerful, scary and confusing thing to experience at first, however it can be confronted and dealt with quite effeciently in my opinion...keep us posted!

Have you been referred to a Neurologist as well, especially for the numbness?..
