Is this anxiety or something more serious?? Pleas help

Hello, I have been having a lot of different symptoms I dont know if its anxiety or something more serious like a tumor or MS. I have shooting pains in my head mostly the top of my head, dizziness that was really bad when it first began but not as much now, headaches almost daily, I've also noticed major attitude changes any little thing upsets me,neck pain, ocasional neck pain and some pain and pressure like behind my ears. Tingling and numbness in arms and hands and tingling and burning on scalp. I'm sure I'm missing some symptoms I may be in the wrong forum but can somebody relate to my symptoms?? Please lend some advice

You are reading WAY TOO far into this... let it go and let the anxiety run its course! It's ALL anxiety Brittany. =)

I'm sure whatever was elevated in your blood was something that ISNT a BIG DEAL and they are just taking the necessary steps to rule anything out. It's in their policy.

They just want to double check.... and some Dr's like to just run tests to get more $ out of you.

So far, your symptoms just sound like Anxiety 100%.

You are going to be fine. Personal message me if you need to vent or if you have any other questions... =)

I'm happy to help.

Thanks, thats what my friends and family keeps telling me not to worry until I have something to worry about. I just find that really hard though especially when they dont feel what I feel. I have expierenced IBS and the tight feeling in my throat and neck area. I have also felt like a lump feeling in my throat also, it actually just happened last night. Has anyone ever felt cold mainly on one side of their body? My right hand and arm feel cold but the rest of my body feels normal!!! This is really scary!!! I hate this..

I think anxiety CAN elevate stuff in your blood. I mean, everything is chemically altered when you are having anxiety.

People with anxiety get high blood pressure. People with anxiety break out in rashes and hives... and their throats get tight...

So I believe things can get out of whack.

People with anxiety get digestion issues like IBS... serotonin is also made in the intestines...

So, it wouldnt surprise me if anxiety can elevate or de-elevate stuff in your blood work.

I'm sure you don't have lupus or anything serious.

No reason to worry til there is something to worry about... but you have NOTHING so far to worry about, except worry itself. =)

That's why we usually all suffer.... we are all "WHAT IF" thinkers... and doing that too much can be a bad thing.

Take care. Write anytime if you need to vent. =)

Thanks, I am really hoping that if I have to get diagnosed with something that it be anxiety rather than lupus. But anxiety dosen't elevate anything in your blood does it?

Thanks, So did you have any blood work done? I'm really mad at myself for even asking the phlebotomy tech what they were testing for because now I'm really worried. Its just really draining!!

MrGreen, I have to agree with you on the "The word anxiety can be a jinx. Once you use it they just stop the tests and fob everything off on anxiety."

When I first saw my Dr. it was b/c of anxiety. And now I'm having a tight throat/gag reflex and digestion issues... stomach/flank pains... and he didnt even run any tests and just said its anxiety/IBS. So he put me on paxil 10mg 4 weeks ago...  I'm still having the tight throat, not as bad... and gag reflex, again not as bad... but I'm prob just used to it? And I'm still having the digestion issues. And I still lack appetite.

I'm thinking I have GERD. And I see him on Monday, and I'm gonna tell him "let's pretend I don't have a history of anxiety... and I am seeing you for these symptoms... what tests would you do to rule anything serious out?"

I'm not talking **** on my Dr. b/c he's awesome. He calls me all the time to check up on me... so he does care about me... and I'm sure he has seen my symptoms before with other anxiety patients.. maybe thats why he didnt run any tests besides a blood test... but I just want REASSURANCE... b/c sometimes REASSURANCE will help the mind...

I've had similar symptoms before. And it scared me... of course my Dr. said it was stress/anxiety related. I had tension and shooting pains on the sides of my head, and temporal area and even in the back... I also have suffered from lower back pain for weeks... and neck stiffness for weeks for no reason... and again, my Dr. said all symptoms of anxiety... I used to get the electric shock feelings in my head too... these shooting electric type pains... that would just scare me... I thought it was possibly TMJ or something... but he said "nope, anxiety."

And sure enough they eventually went away.

The tingling in your arms etc. are common with anxiety as well. Been there done that.

If it makes you feel better, go to a Dr. for a clean bill of health. =)

In the early stages of my anxiety issues I too had the burning/tingling sensation on the top of my head. I had neck/back pains, leg pains, etc. My doc prescribed some tension headache medication to help out. Butal APAP I believe. It helped, but the pains soon passed and moved on to other symptoms. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll find that this really is anxiety and that there will be good days and there will be bad days. Please keep us informed as to your latest blood work. We are all here to help.

Well, I found out that my mri came back normal but something they tested for in my blood was elevated and I had to go back in and they tested for a DNA double strand test,(lupus) and  Rheumatoid Arthritis. I wonder what was elevated that made them have to check for this??? I am now terified again because I dont want lupus. I still have been waking up with a headache and pain in my neck mainly all on the right side!!! I just dont understand.

Next test will probably come back as normal too. Sounds like a familar path that most anxiety sufferers start out on. But don't mention anxiety straight away. Until the doctors are finished doing all their tests. The word anxiety can be a jinx. Once you use it they just stop the tests and fob everything off on anxiety. Wait till the tests are complete and then bring up anxiety with your doctor. That will start you out on a new road. Maybe some theraphy and some light medication. Maybe no medication at all. Maybe just the theraphy to find out where the anxiety came from. Once that is found out they will begin to work on ways to fix things up. Not easy. It will be a battle. But well worth it. Just hang on in there for now. Keep us posted too.

May sound obvious but the best thing anybody can say is go see a doctor and tell him how you are feeling and have a full medical. If it comes back negative, only then do we start thinking anxiety. Rule out the rest first. They can all be symptoms of anxiety. But they can all be symptoms of many other conditions too. Hence a medical and then start looking at your options from there.
