Is this caused by anxiety please help :(!

About two months ago I was told I had health anxiety, I worry about everything and I google a lot of things, but for a for a few months I've had a feeling like I've got something in the back of my throat when I swallow and a little bit of head pressure but over the last two weeks I've had trouble swallowing, it's not hard to swallow food or drink but when I'm just general swallowing it feels as though somethings there, I feel pressure over my sinuses, ears and throat area and I don't know if my lymph nodes are swollen I don't think they're bigger than 1cm? , I also has a nosebleed yesterday and I went into a total panic attack:( all I can think about is stuff like cancer and stuff! Please help me :((

Try to relax is part of anxiety. To much stress/worry give more power to stress hormones adrenalin and cortizol..they are a part of what you feel.

Here is some advice try to listen to the Clarie Weekes CD and try to buy her book it will help you:)

I got a ct scan yesterday because my head pressure got pretty bad so my doctor said I should go to hospital, bloods were all clear and normal and so was the ct scan, but I'm still having trouble swallowing and pressure in my head and nose especially when I swallow?

It's possible that if you are having some sort of sinus problem, your ears would most likely be involved and could possibly hurt when you swallowed. I've never heard of anxiety causing anyone's ears to hurt.

I still believe your neck (and other areas) are tight because your anxious and your muscles are not relaxed which is causing the pain.

Most people without medical training usually can't even find their lymph nodes unless they were sore and/or swollen. You say they are sore ALL the time but not when you touch them.

I will urge you again to see your doctor who may send you to an ENT. With all these concurrent symptoms, a doctor should definitely be consulted.

Would anxiety be making my ears hurt too tho, especially when I eat? Just feels as though my neck is so tight and the Wee lymph nodes bits feel sore all the time, they aren't sore to touch but I can constantly feel them

When you were told you had health anxiety, I will assume that was by a doctor and I will also assume he/she had checked out the issues with swallowing at that time and found nothing wrong.

Personally I believe you are so focused on what you perceive as a "swallowing" problem, you are, in effect, creating one. You are nervous and afraid something is wrong, so your muscles from your shoulders, including your throat, all the way to the muscles surrounding your scalp tighten up. This WILL make it seem as if you're having trouble swallowing and the scalp muscles will make it feel like you have pressure in your head including your ears and the area around your sinuses.

Because I am not a doctor, this is only my opinion, and if you want a professional examination, you should see an ENT.

If your lymph nodes were swollen, they would hurt and if you keep poking and prodding at them, eventually they WILL. Some people's lymph nodes are larger than other peoples but it doesn't mean they're swollen. Let a DOCTOR determine if they are.

Minor nose bleeds can happen for a number of reasons. The two most common reasons for nosebleeds are dry air — when your nasal membranes dry out, they're more susceptible to bleeding and infections
Nose picking.....we'd all be fibbing if we hadn't done this!

Other causes of nosebleeds include:

Acute sinusitis
Allergies
Aspirin use
Chemical irritants, such as ammonia
Chronic sinusitis
Cocaine use
Common cold
Deviated septum
Foreign body in the nose
Nasal sprays, such as those used to treat allergies, if used frequently
Nonallergic rhinitis
Trauma to the nose
nosebleeds are rarely a sign of serious illness. They are usually the result of minor injury or irritation.

Nosebleeds are very rarely a symptom of cancer. Anxiety and/or panic can cause them to be worse and last longer due to the increase in your blood pressure. If you are talking about very frequent nosebleeds that do not stop on their own in about 20 minutes or so, a doctor should definitely be consulted.

The first thing you need to do is stay completely off any and all symptom sites!

The second thing I would recommend is having a complete physical to rule out any underlying medical issues then discuss your health anxiety with your doctor. He/she will be able to refer you to a therapist to help you overcome what is commonly referred to as hypochondria. You CAN do this and I promise you will be much happier when you do.
