O.K. so it turns out I am allergic to Lexapro. The itching has gotten worse. The dr told me to stop taking it and to take benadryl for 4 days and then she can start a new med. I just hope I don't start having really bad anxiety again!!!
Itching can be an anxiety symptom. But if it doesnt go away in a few days or so, tell your Dr.
Doesnt sound like anything to be worried about at all, especially that you are not having a rash or hives etc.
Sounds like anxiety or a little side effect from the Lexapro.
The good news is, is that the side effects from medications like Lexapro usually leave within time.
Thats why i dont like taking drugs for anxiety, its really hard to tell whats causing what. did you itch before the meds? did it get worse with the meds?
If you don't have hives or a rash, it could be anxiety. I am not on Lexapro, but have taken in past without itching.
Itching has been a common symptom of anxiety for me. To the point I was @ dermatologist's office frequently. It is calming down. Mostly confined to scalp now, and doctor gave me a shampoo which stops it.
You know if it is the medicine, your doctor needs to hear from you. As I said before, if you could see hives (which I have gotten from a few head meds) or a rash, you could tell doc and find another medicine you aren't allergic to. Good luck!
