That's the exact feeling that i get - very scary when it first happens!
I don't feel stressed often, but i feel tense and anxious all the time.... this makes me frustrated after a while and then i feel angry at myself.
I've felt a lot better these past few days as i have been off work because last week was a particularly bad week for me. My manager has asked me if i'd like to go off sick for 4 weeks, i think this may ease the level of tension, but i don't want to feel like a let down.
Thanks for your support.
Yes i have found that i am not myself, usually i am very outgoing and i like going out and socialising. Now i don't even like to drink as i worry that something may happen if i drink too much.
Thank you for getting back to me, i'll let you know how i get on.
ive had panic attacks before, i remember on the school bus about 6 or 7 years ago i had one and felt like i was going to die right there. it gave me really bad chest pain like cramping up. and i have been stressed out to the point where i get sick to the stomach. do u stay stressed out a whole lot? especially when ur sick on the stomach? cuz that could be the cause. and as for the doctor, just let them know whats going on and trust them to make the right decision. if u feel like theres something else going on, u can message me and ill see if i can help. best of luck to u
Anxiety can be very confusing when someone expriences for the first time in my opinion. It is scary, makes us question ourselves, and can rob us of our self identity. You did the correct thing by going to see the doctor, but you need to believe him/her in my opinion. The doctor would have taken account your history and your age and suspected anxiety. I believe one of the most important steps you can take is by going to see a counselor/therapist about this. In my experience, you will gain the knowledge and know how in confronting your anxiety. The 'what if' questioning is also very common when worrying about your health in my opinion. It can be a never ending cycle and very hard to come out of if you don't confront this, but it looks like you are, which is a good thing...keep us posted!
