I just saw your comment which gives me some home - I started 5 mg around 9 Feb, upped to 10 mg around 20 feb, up to 15 mg 11 March and 20 mg 6 April. I have seen improvement in depression but still have anxiety episodes. I also don't feel "normal" yet - so I have improvement but only say 50%. Should I continue a bit longer with the 20 mg. Doc added low dose 10 mg nortriptylene which I started last night and slept better.

Had days back at 2.5,5,10 when i felt better but they would come and go. Dr says 3 weeks is trial period. Taking small dose of ativan and klonopin for sleep but the combination was making me very tired. Plan is to ween of everything but Lexapro. Went from 1/2 of .5 ativan to 1/4,felt good for 36 hours then not so good again. Have you ever heard of taking more than 20mg lexapro for anxiety?
I'm glad to see you stuck with it. I think you already know the answer to your question. ;0) We've discussed it numerous times.
Each time you increase your dose of a medication, you need to give it time, reasonably at least 4 weeks (I would recommend closer to 7-8 weeks). My thinking about it is, if you've already made the commitment to try a medication, then I feel you should exhaust all possibilities with that medication, including dosage increases and adjustment periods. Are you feeling ANY better?
Hey there, is it not going well? I thought 20mg was the max dose on Lexapro? I gave it 8 weeks!!
