I forgot to add to talk to your doctor about taking any supplements. Not because it's natural means its safe and have no interactions with other drugs you might take. Especially if you are on an antidepressant treatment.

If you don't want anymore meds from a pdoc you can always find good alternative in your food supplements store.

I recommend Melatonin or Tryptophan, Valerian, Serenite Plus and Karva Karva.

I think melatonin can be good for you if you take it like 1 to 3 hours before going to bed as it will prepare your internal clock to go to bed. Also , as dumb as it may seems, try to avoid any source of light and if you're unable to do so by yourself those eye covers they sell somewhere lol. Melatonin occurs naturally in your body and light decrease it and dark produces it. naturally synthesized from the amino acid tryptophan (via synthesis of serotonin) then serotonin is converted to melatonin. Since an imbalance of serotonin is said to be responsible for depression it is obvious that when we have endogenous depression, we are most likely to be suffering from insomnia as well. The two symptoms are related. Because of the serotonin connection it may also be related to anxieties. Anyway this is my suggestion, you now understand the mechanism and the biochemistry behind insomnia is why i suggest you take melatonin.

Deep breathing, progressive muscles relaxation and mantra meditation could also be helpful to prepare your body to sleep as for clearing your mind from the racing thoughts in the case of mantra meditation ( it's basicly repeating something over and over again, like counting sheeps lol ). I think if you mix all those techniques and try a natural sleep aider you can eventually have a good night of sleep.

Hope that helps,
