I will assume you wrote this "informational/opinion" piece for the original poster, Stephypoo.
I hope she doesn't skip over it as many poster do if it's not directed to them.
I just don't want her to miss your advice.

Before you get a prescription for anxiety medication, seek out alternatives like cbt and dbt. read my post from kryztalstarz. medication masks the issue and doesn't resolve it. I would feel better had they not put me on meds. There is a better way then medications. Find a good doc, don't take other people's meds and research as much as you can before putting anything into your system. Look up cbt and dbt. That may help. Now they have me on meds and I can't get off, I go through withdrawls, it's worse then the anxiety when you are sick from not taking the meds. Good luck. Go with your gut and don't just fill a prescription. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!
WHAT??????????????
The DOCTOR told you to take some of your MOTHERS Ativan? Are you kidding me? Please tell me your kidding me!
Do you have ANY idea how totally unethical, unprofessional, stupid, dangerous and possibly illeagal it was for that doctor to tell you to do that?
I cannot believe this. He should be reported to the AMA as soon as possible. If it was up to me, I'd have his license yanked.
Was your mother with you when he told you to do this? If so, did he discuss what dose you should try? Did he explain how it might affect you?
This is just sooooo wrong, I'm speechless.
I am advising you with a great deal of urgency to never go back to that doctor!
See another doctor who is not connected with him in any way.
I also strongly advise you to report that doctor for everyone's safety. Tell your pharmacist what he suggested and listen to what he tells you to do.
Never take any kind of psychotropic medication that was not specifically prescriped for you.
I wish you the best

ok I will thank you... My moms doctor told me to try her addivan... What's that like?
There is such a wide variety of meds your doctor could put you on and each of them has a different timeline to reach therapeutic levels. As well as the fact we are all different in how we react to meds.
Until we know which medication you'll be taking, there is no way to answer your question.
Repost when you actually have a script.
Peace
