1 month into lexapro

Hey all I just wanted to share with you guy's that I have been on lexapro around a month started the first week 5 mg second 10mg third 15 mg been doing 15mg for 2 weeks now and I dont really feel so much of a theraputic affect? I also take .025 klonpin  in the mornin and nite. I really dont know if i should wait to see my doc on monday and up the dose to 20mg ? I dont really feel like it is helping with my anxiety. Look forward to any input

Hey, that's SO FUNNY we ALL experienced MORE ANXIETY with the Lexapro at 1st. But mine seemed to have stopped after that... or maybe it hasnt? lol. Maybe the Lexapro is causing me to not want appetite either?

My Klonopin (used to take ativan, loved it til it wore off on me) helps greatly. And I can take it when needed.

I think though it is wise to stay on the Lexapro for atleast 6 weeks? maybe 8 weeks before weaning off.... it can take time for our bodies to truly benefit. My heightened anxiety from taking the Lexapro stopped after 2 or 3 days.

I called Nurses Hotline when I was experiencing this terrible anxiety, worse than before, after taking Lexapro... the Nurse said "No, this should not be a side effect at all. It must be in your anxious mind." I was so ticked off. I also called Walgreens and asked a pharmasist if it was common to experience more anxiety at 1st when taking Lexapro 10mg, he also replied "No. Shouldnt be a side effect at all, should make you calmer."

So, obviously they have never taken this stuff. lol. It's also killing my sex drive.

I think I'm gonna wean off soon... but I'm gonna give it a little more time. =)

I took my first lexapro today and I actually posted about it if you want to read it. But I got the worst panic attack I've had in months after I took it. I had to take 2 xanax just to calm down. I'm not continuing the lexapro. I'm sticking with my xanax as needed and saying screw it to the lexapro. Last thing I need is to feel worse than I already do.

Hey,this is monica and i am takeing the lexapro to.I am amazed to hear we are all not doing so good on this med.Because i was just thinking the same thing.I have been on it for what almost two weeks and i swear the adavan is helping more than the lexapro.I think it's makeing me worse with the weird feeling and my anxiety to is very high in the am.I have to take .5 adavan when i first wake up just to calm me.I take another .5 about eleven and feel like crap when i come home.I wanna be able to go all day without the adavan atleast just mourning and night but,at work i haven't been able to.I think i to am going to wean off the lexapro and stick with the benzo.And ya the bad energy *****.I wish it would just go away.

hey bro! same story here exactly! beginning hightened anxiety ! I wake up feeling anxious too bro. same feeling weird feeling over my body hard to explain. I take my lex in the morning and the .25 klonopin shortly after. I too feel like wanting just benzo till i get to a better place!

Hey Anthony. I started on 10mg of lexapro a couple weeks ago or so. The first few days it seemed it made my anxiety worse. Then after that I was on cloud nine... dunno if this was placebo effect or what? I had trouble sleeping though... now on my 2nd week, I'm feeling back to where I was before. I take .5mg of klonopin before bed... it helps me sleep... but I wake up feeling anxious... weird feeling, like a bad energy over my body when i wake up, and mind chatter... i freakin hate it! Can't wait til my Dr. get's back into town. I usually do better just on a benzo, like ativan helped me out when I needed it... then I'd get out of my cycle and wouldnt need it for a month or more...

When you see your Dr. next, tell him you havnt seen any changes. He may want to try you on something else. Good luck to ya!
