Anxiety of a child?

Hi, I'm posting here today because I am a scared 13 year old girl with anxiety. I am home alone sometimes, and my parents will be back tomorrow morning. Anyways, I have anxiety. I have random panic attacks out of nowhere, an sometimes my heart beats REALLY hard. It only beats hard at night when I'm in bed. I also sometimes have a very very very dull pain in my heart. I get scared REALLY easily, also. Thirdly, I have a hard time swallowing sometimes, which leads to a mini panic attack. Fourth, I live in a pretty safe town, but recently there was a breaking and entering arrest in my neighborhood just 4 houses down, so I'm scared of a murderer or strange man coming into my house. Lastly, this one is silly I know, I'm afraid of ghosts. I know, stupid... So what I'm wondering is, how do I get rid of these?
Thanks everyone.

I'd be a little less likely to see a doctor, because they only know how to use medication to treat anxiety and you're too young and not debilitated enough for that.  Most of your fears are very common for young people and you will outgrow them, but it wouldn't hurt to discuss them with a counselor of some kind.  And with your parents.  Maybe something is bothering you that you aren't aware of that's shaken your self-confidence.  Life will never be safe, but that's no reason to obsess over it.  Realize you're having common fears that few people talk about out loud, and maybe it's time to talk about them so they get demystified for you.

Hi,

First I wondered if you ever shared these things with your parents?? Do they know that by leaving you alone it is hard on you??

Anyway, I understand if you dont have the type of relationship with your parents that lets you do that. Could you just explain to them that you would like to go see a Dr. and then if they ask why you have an opening to tell them. Maybe prepare for it even by printing things off that explain how real and frightening anxiety/panic attacks are. Go to youtube and look up a video on these things for them to see. I think its hard for parents to believe anything can be wrong with their child, especially mentally. But if you can get them to understand and get you the help you need you will be ahead of the game and better off for it.

Your very smart to take the first step and actually be here asking these things. I'm hoping everything works out for you.
