I thought so. This is common, and it's why people take public speaking -- to learn they can do it well and develop confidence. It's your decision to make obviously, but Americans have an awful habit of turning to pills for every little thing. I think you'll be fine, and if not, you'll get better, just as an athlete does; the whole point is to get better with practice.
Its for a public speaking class and yes im a little nervous/anxious
Can you give more information? Are you just nervous? What kind of class? Part of speaking before a class is to get practice so you'll learn to do it well and not be nervous the next time. I think we need more information because to see if you really even want to take a powerful drug to get through a class.
Yes, i have. I really didnt notice any side effects. And im thinking of using it 4 a class
HI again. You posted last week about Xanax, you were a little anxious about taking it, and a bit worried about any risks involved with taking it. Have you taken it at all yet?
Xanax CAN be helpful in a public speaking setting, but not always. It truly depends on the person and their level of anxiety, not to mention how they respond to the medication.
I wouldn't recommend taking it before your speech if you've never taken it at all yet. Can you share a bit about what the public speaking engagement is that you're worried about? Have you researched any other strategies for combating anxiety related to speaking in front of people? By the way, the vast majority of people out there have SOME level of anxiety when made to speak in front of people. It's very normal and you can be reassured that pretty much everyone else feels the same way about it.
