Really a panic attack? A different than usual one?

I have always known my panic attacks when they come on. Sudden fear, rush of Adrenaline, fight or flight feeling, etc.

Yesterday, I was at work and I got a feeling like my head was zapping (that's the only way I can explain it). It felt almost like an electrical shock going through my brain. I got dizzy, I stood up and got the fight or flight period. Then I felt nauseated. Of course, I do the thing I am not suppose to and I head home to the safety of my mind (my agoraphobia in full force). After taking my clorazepate, an hour later I am a little calmer. My anxiety attack was hitting me on the way home. I had a bottle of water that I was trying to drink but for some reason every time I would move my hand to my mouth, the zapping feeling would come back and I would shake and couldn't even get the bottle to my mouth. I was a danger to even be driving but I had to get to my safe spot.
I have never had this kind of attack.

Hey Guy,

I think attacks are different for everyone. I sometimes get them out of my stomach and other times its just a wave of fear (adrenillin rush) follwed by a strange mood (derealization). Things around me almost look blurry or out of focus.

A friend of mine has anxiety attacks (Not Panic). His vision shrinks to a narrow path. He has no perifferal vision. It gets so bad, he has to pull his car over to the side of the road if he is driving.

I know about the safe place feeling. had it about a month ago in work. I feel panic coming on all day. Derealization was in full force. i ended up leaving at 2 PM. I have a pretty responsible position where I work or I would have left in the morning.

Hang in there and God Bless. You sound alot bett

I get weird head sensations too.  Sometimes they are shooting pains that only last a few seconds and other times they are pains that go up the back of my head.  I don't know if the anxiety is 100% the cause of them because I do have a herniated disc in my neck.

Is there anyway you could have pinched something in your neck?  I only asking because the sensations were happening when you put your hand up to your mouth.  I am not saying it wasn't caused by the anxiety because it very well could have been.  If it happens again you might want to see your dr just to make sure it isn't something like a pinched nerve.

I really do hope you start feeling better soon.  Best wishes.....
