what are these random feelings that I am dying or about to lose consciousness?

I am 17 years old, and was diagnosed with a Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic disorder about 2 years ago. This was very random, I have not experienced anything traumatic that would trigger it, thus making it very confusing as to why it was happening to me.

I was prescribed Zoloft first. The first day I took it, and the week following I had a very weird electric falling feeling randomly during the day. I was also very easily startled to where it would feel as though I was electrocuted for a split second through my whole body. After I realized this wasn't going away, my psychiatrist took me off of it, and started me on Celexa.

It started off the same way that Zoloft did. But that feeling faded away and eventually the medication did it's job.

Unfortunately, in the beginning of my junior year of high school, my anxiety was so bad that I was unable to attend school. The solution: up the dosage of my meds. Mind you, I do NOT like being on any medication. I will only take a Xanax if I am absolutely going crazy. With that said, the dosage was only going further up, and it was not helping me.

About 2 months into Junior year, I dropped out. I didn't see how I could continue missing school as I was, and be successful. Since I had left school, I was no longer feeling anxious, and was able to come off of the meds (thank god).

But, here's the punchline: its back. I could understand if I was under stress, and would feel a little anxious. But its everyday. And now I'm wondering if that is even what I'm feeling. I will (completely out of nowhere) feel as though I am slipping away from reality, to the point where I have frequently had to pinch myself or grab onto something so that I can make sure I'm still conscious. I have never passed out, or fainted before. But when I feel this dying sensation, fainting is what seems to come to my mind. It will happen while I am sitting, standing, laying down, walking, driving, eating. Anytime. And the only time I remember this happening was when I was beginning a new medication. I am very concerned that this is something more than anxiety, which of course isn't making anything better. If anyone has any further knowledge about this very scary feeling, please let me know. Thanks!

Have you talked to your doctor about this just to give you some piece of mind ?

No I haven't yet. I plan on making an appointment, but I'm not very hopeful. They will most likely say it's anxiety. But like I said, there has to be something else causing it.
