I agree with paxiled. Buspar in itself is not usually enough to take care of the anxiety. Its usually added to an SSRI to help with residual anxiety. It did nothing for me, but others have found it extremely helpful. Apparently if you have taken benzos, Buspar is less likely to work. Give it an honest try, but seek further help if it's not working.
You might want to research Buspar. I don't think it's ever proved better than placebo in studies on anxiety. I think it's main use today is to augment anti-depressants.
I agree with lynn57, shes right you probley need more than buspar. I used to feel the same way, it gets better. You are not alone, good luck.

Physical symptoms are a small part of anxiety. The mental issues are far worse in my opinion. When my anxiety was at it's worst all I could think about was how I was feeling. I couldn't focus on conversations, t.v. reading etc. The thoughts are completely invasive. You probably need something more than the Buspar. It is not enough for some people. Talk to your doctor. Remember it is your right to feel better. Make sure you get there!
