yes I take it for anxiety /panic attacks. I'm also diagnosed with ptsd and have side effects from past meds I have been on which caused trets(foot tapping and jaw locking finger rubbing or rolling. it helps me alot with all and only take Prozac as antidepressants for ptsd and autistic sensitivity issues. I had dizziness and fainting when blood pressure dropped also but Dr lowered my dose and it stopped happening after that. I was on same dose once before but when I went back on to meds same dose gave me the dizziness problems unlike last time I took 2 mgs i have taken 1 mg daily except while pregnant and trying to conceive. so no risk on pregnancy problems. and no problems ever again and solved all my issues still.
I take Tenex for severe anxiety. It has been the miracle addition to my medication regime I've had unbearably severe anxiety that hasn't responded well to SSRI's or atypical antipsychotics. Right now I'm taking Tenex with Effexor and Seroquel (low doses on each), and it has made such an amazing difference. I don't feel drugged or strung out on it, though immediately after taking it I have had some cases of orthostatic hypertension (getting up too quickly and getting very dizzy and faint). There are studies in progress for Tenex for severe anxieity and it's been used for a while with patients with PTSD so far as I know. I'm sure it's not for everyone but I'm guessing if it's been suggested it's due to a situation like mine where the typical options just weren't cutting it. I hope this helps some... It's really made a difference in the manageability of my disorder...
