please help

well,as i write this tears are streaming down my face,my 2 yr old and husband have no idea how i am suffering. here is how it started,i swallowed a piece of bone and got a tear in my throat,it started closing and i went to see the doctor,he told me it was a tear but anxiety kicked in and i demanded a upper endoscopy,i got one and 2 days after i had burn in my stomach and pains,i never had nausea until after that scope. i am sooooo scared that i contracted hep.c or a bacteria,i can't even sleep,i also think the Dr damaged something. i don't know any answers to those questions but i feel like i did this to myself..... i have an appt. with another gi dr. but i fear they will never find what was done to me and i will have to live like this....... thank you for listening,if you have any knowledge on that procedure that can help please post?

mammo, thank you. i read you can get h pylori and all kinds of bacterias. i can't help but think i did. why would my stomach burn 2 days after. it has been since may 21st. i got the procedure done at geisinger and i feel like telling them my fears, but i know i might look crazy.how can i get on with life and just except that my stomach got messed up from the scope and deal with it? i feel so guilty i might give my child or husband something from it,i havea hep c test i have to take in 3 weeks,i called my family dr. he faxed the test in .so scared  the  dr. that did the scope,i wasn't familiar with,he was new and came from kentucky, what if he damaged something?

I agree with sillygirl on this.  If you have an infection you would be running a fever, so if you're not you can rule this out right away.  I have a lot of experience with this procedure with my family, but I also worked many years for 2 Gastroenterologists and have never heard of anyone getting an infection, Hep C or a tear from the procedure.  If they were to tear something they would have known it during the test and corrected it.

I hope you find everything to be just fine with the next GI and  can put your mind at ease.  Take care.

Endoscopys are a fairly routine procedure.  I have never heard of anyone getting a bacterial or viral infection from one.  Feel your anxiety is running away with you.

Still....definitely check with another gastro doc to rule out the possibility of damage or infection.  Anytime we have a procedure, I guess there is chance of infection, no matter how sterile the clinic or hospital ....

Hope your insurance will pay for the second procedure.  Good luck.
