Treatments for short-term anxiety caused by smoking weed? How long does it take for the effects of weed to leave your body?

I smoked weed for the second time about 9 days ago, although I consider it as my first time since I didn't do it right the actual first time. Anyways I only took one big hit and I think it caused my anxiety symptoms. I started with shortness of breath then started getting constant lightheadedness/dizziness, then heart palpitations, I would feel my heart like literally POUNDING, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. I did my research and I've read that weed has short-term effects that includes anxiety and that it will eventually pass after several days. Well, it's been 9 days for me and I still have the symptoms. How many more days do you think I have left before the marijuana has left my system? And what are some short term medications that can help with my symptoms? I'm gonna see my doctor soon, but I jsut wanted to see if anyone has experience this and can help me.

I'm sure that while you were doing your research, you realized there are many different answers and opinion to your questions.
There is some incredibly powerful weed out there, but unless you got into something that had been dusted, it's hard to imagine that 9 days later you would still be having these symptoms. Before you smoked weed, did you consider yourself to be an anxious person? Had you ever had anxiety or panic attacks? I'm not sure if it's possible for weed to push someone into an anxiety disorder or not. Since you plan on seeing your doctor anyway, I'd advise you doing it sooner than later.
Don't want to freak you out, but something is going on and you need to find out what.

Well, I stress out a lot on school & life itself, just like every normal teenager, but I've never had any previous anxiety/panic attacks before. It only started happening the night after I smoked weed. I haven't smoked since and probably will never do so ever again. I'm waiting on my doctor to get the results of my EKG, blood test, and chest x-ray before he can call me in to see him agian.

I've had this same experience with weed and its been three years and my therapist calls it cannabis induced anxiety there were no other sign of any other drugs in my system I went to the ER in am ambulance the very same night so after your test come back and if there all normal then you can be assured its anxiety from the weed I was so freaked out but now the anxiety subsides and flares up prozac helped me and them some needs I got from a holistic doctor but you should always talk with your doc to see what's ready r you
