Weening of Xanax


I have been taking 4 Xanax pills a day (0.05mg); two in the morning and two at night. I want to quit completely, but I do not know how. I attempted to quit entirely two days; however, soon thereafter I began experiencing withdrawals: tingling, increased heart-rate, insomnia, amongst other effects. How do I safely taper myself down without the withdrawals?

Hi, I have been on Xanex for 30 years and now the Dr. will not refill, said to go to Phycs ??? I am TERRIFIED !!!!!

Any sigeestions ? How did you Taper ??? Was it Really Bad withdrawls ???

Very very slowly cut the dosis down. A quarter a week if you have to.

I Stopped Xanaxs After 25 yrs Of Use Without A Doctor!    I Gained 40 Lbs!   30 Of Which Stayed!   I Have Never Been So Miserable & Depressed In My Whole Life But Together!   It Really Messed Up My Hormones Also!   I Wished I Had Never Stopped!

YOU DON'T!

You go to your doctor, or whomever prescribed the Xanax, and under THEIR guidance and supervision, you taper slowly off to avoid as much discomfort as possible.

I don't know how long you've been on the Xanax, but if they tell you to just stop taking it, find yourself another doctor immediately. You cannot cold turkey off Xanax if you've been on it for any length of time even at a small dosage.
