They are many ways to manage your anxiety, bt u've to work on few aspects including diet, physical exercise, behavioural changes , mental n nurturing inner child, well I'm planning to work on it too, to get better n I feel compared to a place of sharing our pains, v can make this as a place 4 us to share our recovery steps, do add me n v shall work on our health , tc love
Oh boy...I remember being in the throws of panic and anxiety and watching ONE dumb thing on TV that would set me off. Unlike you, my fears were never health based, but rather than I was going insane. So, even little comments on TV about someone being "crazy" would trigger my panic. Until you get your anxiety better managed, this stuff is going to happen, so don't be too hard on yourself. You'll be amazed at the insignificant things that will trigger anxiety in you.
The important thing is, you are seeking help. When you get in with your new p-doc, ask for a new therapist. What your therapist told you is ridiculous. Of COURSE therapy can and will help you, you just haven't found the right therapist yet! I would have been upset hearing that too, I don't blame you. Like you were a helpless case? Geez! NOT true!
One piece of advice I have for you, on top of continuing with your professional care is to limit your TV and music (any media) to very lighthearted, funny themed shows/songs, etc. I always found that a good comedy always lifted my spirits and actually helped me forget about the anxiety, even if for a few minutes. Stay away from deep involved dramas, horror movies, health related shows, the news (yes the news!), anything that will cause more surges of emotions that you don't need right now. Same with music, avoid sad, sappy songs, while a good cry is therapeutic, you don't want to sit in your room playing "Love Hurts" over and over, lol...you know? Keep it light and simple and happy. Everything in your environment will affect your mood and midset.
Hang in there..better days are coming, it just takes time and patience!
Hey hun.
Your kind words are so nice and I needed that.. Thanks. I worry about my hear so much I haven't been able to move on from it even with the test I have had.. I'm still worried. Its like everywhere I look or turn its something about heart disease or attack. I'm going crazy..
Thanks so much hun.. How do you deal with it?? Your anxiety that is??
Hi friend, all u need nw is assurance tht u'll b fine, from what u've explained I would say you are suffering from anxiety disorder , n the symptoms are palpitations, night terror, sweaty palms, fear of loosing urself, hypochondriac( which means believing u have serious illness when u don't) they are all the typical symptoms of anxiety, this could b due to many external causes including stress, grief, environment n many more, bt dear nt to worry I'm one of your type n I'm only 24 , so its normal n managable if u believe u could do so, its nt something tht u gt to b afraid off, it can b treated, gd luck
Hi remar.
I do see a therapist every two weeks. But they told me a couple weeks ago I need a physiatrist they say I'm beyond their help. They are not equipped in my area. They actually said. "they are like a bandage on a bullet wound" that freaked me out.
So today I have to go and sign a release of info to have my records sent to another hospital for the psychiatrist. Hopeful I get apt fast.. I can't l live like this I need my life back..
Thanks hun
It sounds to me that you have health anxiety. I looked at your profile and see that you only 30. It is so highly unlikely that you are having heart problems at such a young age.
Your heart is racing because of the anxiety. Are you in therapy? I would recommend getting in to it if you are not already. I think it could really help your anxiety.
