Am I having anxiety attacks?

I can remember as far back as two years that I've had this odd chest pain. At first I didn't know what it was so i just ignored it. It only happened a few times in a few months that i could remember. It felt like the room was spinning, i couldn't breath, my chest had shooting pain for about two minutes, then i would calm down, get some air and it would be gone. But recently they are occurring extremely often and its scarring me. I don't get as dizzy as the previous ones but i have to stop whatever i'm doing hold my chest and try and get my breathing under control. They only last for less then two minutes. I have recently had a lot of stress in my life, i smoke, i can't sleep, have regular caffeine in sodas and coffee.
Is it just stress? Is it my heart?
What scares me the most is that because i have been an off and on again smoker that i'm afraid it has something to do with blood clots. I've been on yazz and another general birth control for a few months. I'm not taking them any more but while i was, i was smoking.
If anyone can give me any insight until i can get things straighted out with my doctor it could really give me some peace of mind.

it sounds like anxiety/panic but always be safe and go to your dr have your heart checked out for peace of mind if not everytime it happens you will wonder if its your heart and that can throw you into more stress/panic.

so go get it checked than if anxiety you can get all kinds of help with it.

Best advice is to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician.  In the meantime, I would try tapering off "caffeine in sodas and coffee."
