Would just like some answers!

Hi, i've been suffering with anxiety since I was twelve years old. I am now nineteen and have been on and off several medications, in and out of therepy, I really feel like I have tried everything. I stopped taking all medication about a year ago, but as of like 2 weeks ago I decided to go back on them. Currently I take 100 mg of Zoloft and .5 mg of Ativan as needed. My question is, for the last week or so I have been having horrible problems with sleep. I will start to feel tired around 11 pm and have no problem going to sleep. When sleeping on the other hand though I have been having really crazy and unusual dreams. After sleeping for about 8 hours I will wake up and feel fine and then BAM I get this horrible rush of panic. My room looks wierd, nothing feels right and I will just walk up and down the hall several times not knowing what to do with myself. I feel very confused and dissorented when this is going on. I also have scattered thoughts that make absolutly no sense. I always end up taking an ativan and calming down after about an hour. Does anyone know why this is happening!? Its so scary... :'( Any suggestions/answers would be greatly appeciated!

Are you going on and off medications by instruction of your doctor? Cause if not, it can be pretty dangerous.  I know certain medications can cause bad dreams.  I suffer a lot from nightmares and often wake up with anxiety, but to calm myself down I usually read.  It takes your mind off of dwelling on anxiety and focuses you on someone else's life and problems.
I would talk to your doctor about what is going on...maybe this medication isnt right for you, or something.  Good luck!

Yes the doctor instructed me to go back on them, but in the past I was on Paxil and just stopped and it was horrible! So I learned to have my doctor approve everything dealing with medication before I do it. I never thought of reading but it sounds like a great idea to just get my mind away from fear and onto something else. Thank you so much for commenting, it means a lot! :)
