She did not cold turkey off the Xanax. She has spent four months slowly weaning off. Thank you for your concern and good advice!

You can't go cold turkey with this med. You must wing your self off of them very slowly. I take them now, 3 a day for the last 5 years. I went off of them for a week and got very sick. The with draws are really bad. Just be careful and work with a doctor with your with draw signs.
Four YEARS on Xanax is a long time and personally I find it amazing that you're completely off them in only four MONTHS.
That you still have a few lingering signs of withdrawal is normal and the best you can do is just hang on, stay strong and they'll eventually go away. The Xanax took over functioning for a part of your brain, so that part said "I don't need to do my job anymore, so I'm going on vacation." Four years is a long vacation and it will take more than four months for your brain to take over the whole job again.
If these symptoms do not abate over time (months) get worse or begin to interfer with your daily life, obviously you would need to see a doctor.
I congratulate on your w/d from Xanax. It's probably one, if not THE, most difficult benzo to get off. You should be proud of yourself.
It's great that you feel like doing more stuff and the weight loss is a huge bonus!
Just keep on doing whatever you're doing to cope, stay strong and patient but never hesitate to discuss anything with your doctor.
You're gonna be just fine!! And an inspiration for other's to know it can be done!
