First of all, you need to talk to your Dr. first.
People are all different when it comes to medications.
Sometimes Dr.s just prescribe an anti-depressant, others just prescribe a benzo (a mild tranquilizer type pill, aka: a chill pill) and some Dr.s prescribe both.
It really depends on your type of anxiety.
Now, to answer your question about the "least addictive" part.
Benzos can be addictive. Physically and Mentally.
But when used correctly, and prescribed by a Dr. they can be very helpful to lots of people.
Also, if you have an addictive personality, like a history of drug/alcohol abuse, tell your Dr. this.. he may not want to give you benzos.
Now anti-depressants, usually are not addictive. I've never heard of them being addictive. Now I'm not a Dr. either. I do know that they can help you greatly! And when coming off of them, you can have some types of withdrawal effects. Anti-depressants also come with side effects as you take them too... but those side effects usually leave after 2-3 weeks. And remember, not everyone has side effects or withdrawal effects. We are all wired differently. =) And the most common side effect with an anti-depressant is a "sexual" side effect.
Don't be scared of what your Dr. suggests. Your Dr. knows best. And you should trust your Dr.
Also, psychologists help greatly too! Or a counselor! =) You can overcome anxiety without prescription drugs too! =) Some people who take Anti-depressants also see a counselor too, to get to the root of the problem. =)
Good luck to you and hope this information helped.
Keep in touch.
