Im so happy to find this I have been worring about this ever since ive had my first panic attack it drives my boyfriend crazy because i constantly think im dying everytime i go to the doctor and they test my heart rate they say its normal i havnt had an ekg or anything but ive never had problems so its nice to know im not the only one who gets effected in this way i hope we can all figure out how to stop this though because when i feel like im having heart problems i start looking up reason to explain it then all the symptoms of diseases im reading i end up with them and have even worse anxiety.
yes.... well for me sometimes i get really extreme anxiety.. before the tests im always worried but when the doctors say the found nothing wrong with my body i get little bit confused..
You're not alone on this one man. All I feel since my first panic attack are heart symptoms, racing heart. Pounding heart, palpitations, a weird feeling in which it's weak, weird feelings in my legs and arms, and it's pretty debilitating since its making me feel like I should quit hockey since I think in going to drop dead like those other hundreds of athletes. I'm only 19 and got the all clear from the cardiologist and GP and still I stress over this.
If they did tests and came to no conclusion...your very safe to bet its anxiety. Anxiety does strange things to your body. Personally, I get heart palpatations all the time when I'm anxious. My heartbeat actually becomes really irregular when I experience anxiety. Often what happens is you think about how your heart feels irregular and it increases your anxiety, therefore making the heart situation worse.
Trust me though, Its definitely anxiety. It can make your body do strange things. Last summer I couldn't even eat because anxiety completely messed up my digestive system. There was nothing actually wrong with me, just my body couldnt digest because of anxiety. It effects everyone different. It seems like you get anxiety in ways that it effects your heart. For me, I get it in ways that effects my stomach. Good luck, and know you are not alone!
Yes, it does make sense. Many of us that have anxiety think we have heart problems, or some other kind of ailment. What happens when your anxious is your chest muscles tighten up. You can also get palpitations. I understand it can be very hard to except that fact that you have anxiety. Are you seeing a counselor? If not, I highly recommend doing so. They can help you find out why you're having anxiety and also help with some techniques on how to deal with the anxiety.
