Let me tell you, the "How can I control WITHOUT medication" question is very dear to the hearts of people on this forum and anxiety and panic fans everywhere. You've taken a key first step: you are here, and as a member, I see.

One thing you don't discuss in your post is how and when your panic started -and any therapy you may have had. Can you fill us in on that?

Thanks!

First of all welcome to the group :)

You are certainly not alone. (thats a big thing to understand)

Joining the military while having anxiety??? I think thats a wonderful thing to do, but worry if it is a good idea. Sounds like the best thing for you to try is a therapist. I know, I hated the idea too, but I refuse to take meds, I am scared to. And I know talking about all of this has helped me a lot.

I have the same worry issues at night. I found that falling asleep listening to the TV helped also I played games either on line or on my TV (Direct TV has a real neat game channel now )

I was also prescribed Avitan for any extreme attacks and if I take one before bed it helps me sleep through the night. I don't take it every night, just when its unbearable.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I am new to all these emotions too, and still trying to self therapy myself... but there are soo many others here that I know will be around to offer advice.

Good Luck :)
