body sensations of being in *motion*

I wonder if anyone has experienced a major problem I have been having for the past four years.

I have involuntary body movements and the sensation of always being *in motion* internally...that si to say I feel like I am on a floating raft in the Gulf...it is very disturbing to me and a most unpleasant feeling all the time...it never stops unless I am actually in motion myself or riding in a car.  I have MVP with dysautonomia. I also have this buzzing in my head and sometimes the inside of my head feels as if it is vibrating...awful.  Anyone have a clue?   Thanks, Lora Elizabeth

Hey...I answered most of your question in my reply to the previous response post...yes, anxiety can surely be caused by MVP and the reverse is true too if one is already genetically disposed to MVP...it runs in my family though I never noticed my *heart* until I got zapped by a dentist with too much epinephrine that, in his words, "...went directly to your heart...you are not going to die! you are not going to DIE!" ...I think he was trying to convince himself  more than me...then a short time later my thyroid went crazy and turned to thyrotoxicosis (which causes heart attack) and spent some time in the hospital...the floating motions external and internal have never stopped since then...some days are worse than others...some days are ok...tolerable.

Your are right about the inner ear...had that checked out too...not it..at least it wasn't then...but I could have that problem now...it is a possibility...I will check it out...thanks...I have had so many doctors and so many tests and nothing can be explained really...I am being scheduled for an MRI so that offer some solution...or perhaps news I don't want to hear...I take Lexapro and klonopin and calcium channel blocker...I am sure they help otherwise I would be drooling in a corner or worse...then there are the side effects of meds to consider...I have truely given up and sleep 10 to 15 hours a day now...it calms down my central nervous system so my mornings are usually ok...thanks for your input Jerzeegal...Lora Elizabeth.

There were a couple of things that came to mind when I read your post.

Anxiety may be a component of MVP syndrome which could explain your symptoms

An inner ear disturbance could also explain the sensations you are experiencing.

What have your doctors said? What kinds of tests have they run since you have been coping with this for 4 years? Have you tried medication and does it help?

I ASSUME you've had the ten zillion tests to rule out this and that? If not, I suggest you consult with your doc about that, because with anxiety and panic, sometimes the only way you can say what it IS, is to know what it AIN'T. And speaking of anxiety and panic, you never did say you have either of those. Do you?

Also -you've had this for 4 years. What happened 4 years ago; what ELSE was going on when the symptoms started-some major life event? A crisis of some kind, something that made a big impression on you?

Would like to know more.
