Not true OCD does not do that, there would have to be something else going on with that person as well.

If I had a dollar for every OCD suffer, including myself at one time, that thought they had schitzophrenia I would be a very rich woman.  You don't have it.

I went back and read your original post.  You are actually posting about the same things that many other OCD suffers on this forum are also posting about.  Have you read their posts?  They are fearful of the same things, first possibly hearing things and wondering if they are schitzophrenic and second, about whether they are gay or not.

I have been in your shoes on both accounts and many more that I will spare you from.  From your post, it does not sound as if the doctor helped you at all.  I understand your family history of schitzophrenia and so yes, this would naturally be a concern.  But when you couple that with the other thoughts that you are having, it sounds like a case of classic OCD...a bunch of irrational thoughts that just keep coming and going.  You think you have gotten rid of one only to have it resurface or replaced by something else entirely.  I think there is pretty much any letter in the alphabet can be put in front of OCD.  It is truly amazing what the brain can come up with.

In any event, as I told another person on the forum, this is unlikely to just go away on its own.  I think you need to visit a different doctor, one that will actually take the time to listen to what you have to say.

You can try CBT for OCD and that can help.  Or you can go the medication route.  Either way, you need a good doctor to start with.  I could not have gotten out of that cycle by myself, I needed to learn CBT techniques and I needed to be on medication.

When I posted my last comment, I was not trying to belittle your fears.  Just in a backward way letting you know that your particular fears are the fears of many OCD sufferes and that includes myself.

If you have any more questions, let me know.  JGF25

You are so right, Google is not an OCD/Anxiety person's friend but rather the enemy.  I think that you have suffered enough don't you?  Find the right doc for you and let them make this all go away.  Like I said, I used to be where you are and now I feel normal again.  It is possible.

I have OCD and have been having hallucinations.  My fear is acquiring HIV from blood and other bodily fluids.  I see things that aren't there because of the fear.  For instance, I see blood on door knobs but when I go to check, it's not there.  I also have psychosomatic feelings when I'm around questionable people.  For instance, at work, if a co-worker I am not friends with approaches me and talks to me, I can literally feel them spitting in my eye.  If someone walks past me, I can feel blood or spit drop on my arm.  It's not there, or at least I hope it's not, it's a symptom of my OCD.

I wouldn't necessarily call those "hallucinations".  Moe like your brain causing you to think you see certain things due to your high anxiety level and paranoia about HIV.  Hallucinations are much different from what you describe.

There is really only one solution here, it is to get some professional help.  Considering that you've already been diagnosed as having OCD, I'm assuming you already have a psych doc?  If so, you need to let him/her know what is going on in relation to the HIV fears.  If you don't, you need to get one ASAP.

With OCD, there will always be a manifestation of some kind of fear, whether it be germs, health concerns, inasanity, HIV, you name it.  If you don't properly treat it, you will always be battling some kind of fear in your mind.  When the current one goes, it will be replaced with something else.
